Businesses Supporting One Another
Seeds of Opportunity
The Engaging Opportunities Foundation and Christy's Corner Cafe begin a new endeavor to support healthy living and remove ability-related barriers to employment.
We are taking the first step to explore the possibility of creating a permanent, working farm in our community. We dream this new project will create fresh, local produce for use in our café and support employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

In May, we invited our staff and regular volunteers to plant a community garden at the Barbee homestead. Volunteers prepared the soil and planted cucumbers, corn, onions, and more with support from our friends at Bench’s Greenhouse.
We have begun to realize the fruits of our labors and the first harvest has been used in Christy’s Corner Café!

If you have an interest in being a part of this project, we would love to connect with you.
